Recently, our team, Sealed with a Kiss Designs, has had the pleasure of working with the amazing fashion designer product, Reah Norman. Reah helped us build our new style “how to” tutorial video for the highly anticipated Wrap Anastasia interchangeable. Reah We specifically chose this project because his specialty is to Plus Size Fashion Styling. She became the West Coast go-to-girl “for all women over size. Reah was so much fun and such a joy to have work on the project I talked to him in a private interview with me so I can share with our readers / customers a little more about her and her profession. Reah So, I begin to tell you our readers / customers exactly what it is you and how long you did that? I am a stylist and I specialize in fashion design for large, as well as products and the proposed style. I am hired by magazines, clothes designers, advertising agencies and public relations, and the company’s divisions of retail stores to select appropriate wardrobe, props and accessories to be used in photos videos, TV, movies, entertainment and fashion. I also work with large models to select wardrobe for portfolio development, test shoots, and special events. What made you decide to enter this profession? Since I’m young, I had an eye for style, photography and I was attracted by the clothes and fabrics. My first job was working at a dry cleaning, and then I went to work in Visual Merchandising. I studied photography, art and fashion throughout high school and college, and I finally received my degree in merchandising and photography. After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles and attended a graduate program in visual communications at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. I knew I wanted to be a stylist and I was convinced that the study of these disciplines would allow me to sharpen my eye for detail and create my style as an artist. I worked on staff and freelance, with several companies, designers and professionals in the industry and my work style has been featured in print advertising campaigns, company catalogs, and the newspapers. What do you think some of the differences between one style to the mainstream fashion and plus size? There are not many designers in the industry who are willing or interested in the fight against the market more. Styling for the models is unique because their body is unique. Most upright models between sizes 0-4, and given the nature of an organization this size, they are generally able to dress more. With most models, it is the greatest care in selecting apparel will depending on the type and size of the body.
